Saturday, May 10, in the church hall The Moderator meets the Consistoire Laurentien.
Members and adherents of Chalmers-Wesley are invited to attend this gathering.
Theme: The 400th anniversary of Quebec and French Protestantism from the Huguenots at the founding to the United Church today The Rev. Pierre Goldberger, Executive Minister, l’Unité des ministères en français (UMiF) will preside. Translation will be provided, as Mr. Giuliano does not speak French.

Feast of Pentecost, Sunday, May 11 at 11 am, in the church
A bilingual service for both congregations, the Moderator speaking briefly, with Holy Communion The service will be led jointly by the Rev. Gérald Doré, pastor of Saint-Pierre, and the Rev. Martyn Sadler, minister emeritus of Chalmers-Wesley. A light meal, buffet-style, will be provided in the church hall after the service, with opportunity for everyone to meet the Moderator informally.
The Light Lunch is being coordinated by members of Chalmers-Wesley and Saint-Pierre. Please contact Shirley Nadeau or Sandra Holman to let them know what you can bring - sandwiches, crudites, sweets (squares or cookies).
Because of the expected number of people, we will not have room for a sit-down lunch; the meal will be buffet style but seating will be available for those who may need it. |

2008-05-03 Meeting of Congregation and Conference Representative

Rev. Doug Stewart, Minister for Personnel & Congregation, M & O Conference, will be at Chalmers-Wesley on Saturday, May 3rd from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for a gathering/meeting with any from the congregations of Chalmers-Wesley, St. Andrew's United, and St. Andrew's Presbyterian (Valcartier) as well as Chalmers-Wesley staff that choose/need to attend. We are expecting a review of the recent change in our pastoral relations, as well as guidance for the next steps we must make together. |

The Chalmers-Wesley Women's Group will enjoy a luncheon at the Café de Paris on rue St-Louis following the worship service on Sunday, April 27th at 12:45 p.m. For this special occasion, we are being offered a choice of meals for $20.00, tax and tip included.
EVERYONE (including the men) is warmly invited to this after-church social activity.

2008-04-06 Bible Study Meeting

Elizabeth Huse has offered to lead a Bible Study group which will start after Easter. A meeting will be held following the worship service on Sunday, April 6th, to discuss the proposed plan of study - "A Purpose Driven Life" - and also to choose a day and time which will be convenient for those interested in attending the study sessions. |

2008-03-27 Congregational Dinner

A Congregational Dinner will be held on Thursday, March 27th, at 5:30pm. Joann and Stuart Wright have graciously offered to host the event at their home located at 1251 ave De Laune. Please note, this event is for adults only.

Their house is down a laneway on the right just where De Laune starts to curve to the left. It would be best to park on the street and walk in. It is recommended that you play close attention to the signs indicating where you cannot park on the street on the curve. You are invited to contribute a dish to the meal. Here are some suggestions:
Cold cuts (sliced ham, roast beef, roast pork, prepared meats, etc.) Cheese plate Salads - green, bean, potato Vegetable platter Bread / Crackers Olives, Pickles, Cookies / Squares / Fruit plate Bottle of wine

2008-02-24 Annual Congregational Meeting

Immediately following our regular Sunday church service, there will be a light pot luck lunch served in the church hall following which the annual congregational meeting will be held. |

2008-02-16 Carnaval Parade Party!

This is the final weekend of Winter Carnaval. Members and friends of Chalmers-Wesley are welcome to park in the church parking lot and make use of the church hall, go see all the Carnaval sites knowing you have a place to come back to and relax. You must arrive before 3:15pm as access by car into the Old City is closed at that time. Those who wish to attend the Carnival Party MUST phone Anna Baril at 627-0937 to reserve a parking place.
Bring supper for your family or group and share a meal together before going out to watch the Upper Town Parade.
The parade route is slightly different from past years; it departs at 7:00pm from René-Lévesque near ave Joffre, goes east on René-Levesque, turns south (right) on avenue Cartier, then east again (left) down Grande-Allée, stopping at Place George V (in front of the Manège Militaire).

There will be NO service at Chalmers-Wesley. We are invited to worship with St. Andrew's Presbyterian and/or the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (to be confirmed). This will be the Rev. Walter Raymond's last Sunday at the cathedral before he moves to Monte Carlo.

There will be NO service at Chalmers-Wesley. We are invited to worship with the congregation of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church located at the corner of Cook and Ste-Anne Streets in the Old City. Please note, the service there starts at 10:30am. We suggest you park at Chalmers-Wesley and walk down to St. Andrew's as there is limited parking available on the streets around St. Andrews. The rear entrance to the church on Ste-Anne Street has easier access if you find the front steps difficult.

Service of Lessons and Carols. Readings of the familiar Christmas scriptures with lots of carol singing. Following the service we will have our traditional Pot Luck lunch. Please bring a contribution to the meal, and a friend or two! All are welcome.
