Confirmation

Chalmers-Wesley, through its Session, actively encourages its baptised and adherent members to become full confirmed members of the church. Full membership promotes a sense of belonging and allows us to participate in the life and work of the church without reserve. It also allows the right to vote at all meetings.

Membership classes are conducted for youth and adults separately, as the need arises. The teaching process places emphasis on the scriptures, participation in the life and witness of Chalmers-Wesley United and promotes understanding of the polity and practices of the United Church of Canada.

Central to membership is an understanding of and appreciation for the cost of discipleship. Everyone brings their own gifts, talents and abilities to the congregation and you are encouraged to share those gifts. Through the journey of confirmation you draw near to God in faith and are convicted to go forth and serve the needs of God in the world.
