The Sing-Along Messiah is an annual event which started in 1998 at Chalmers-Wesley.  It is usually scheduled for the last weekend of November as a  kick-off of the Christmas season.  The date for this year's edition of the Sing-Along is November 23rd.  As usual, the evening will start at 7pm.

For the Sing-Along, the audience sings selections from Haendel's "Messiah".  We encourage you to bring your score and join in the fun.  For singers who do not bring a copy of the score we usually have a few extra we can lend out for the evening.  Although we encourage everybody to participate, non-singers are also welcome to come and enjoy the event.

Each year, we invite a different director to conduct the singers.  Earlier this year, we announced that we would be directed by Guy Bélanger. Unfortunately, he is a candidate in the current provincial elections and is unable to come this year.  In his place, André Papillon, who ably directed us two years ago has offered to "take up the baton"!  André is an accomplished musician and teacher and we look forward to his contribution to the success of this year's Sing-Along Messiah!

In addition, we invite quality musicians to lead us.

The evening starts with about an hour and a quarter of rehearsal during which the director helps us with the most difficult passages.  Then, after a short break, the director leads us through the "concert" portion of the evening including solos by the invited musicians.  If you would like to come but not sing, we will be very happy to see you.  If you are interested in watching the rehearsal, come at 7:00pm but if you would rather  arrive closer to the start of the concert part of the evening, come for about 8:15pm!
